Stay in a beautiful house on the banks of the Kallada River.The place is charming and peaceful.Our residence was a spacious, very clean wooden cottage with a comfortable bed, air conditioning, fan...In short, equipped with every comfort.The hosts were kind, considerate and assisted us with excursions to see the area.We dined by candlelight under a gazebo on the riverbank.Unforgettable days.For anyone passing through these parts, we recommend stopping at this establishment.
I had an amazing stay at this beautiful homestay with an extremely welcoming family. The location is nestled in one of the best backwaters areas, just 10 meters from regular boat access and a mere 1 meter from the backwaters. The nearby small hotels offer delightful local cuisine and flavors.The rooms are exceptionally beautiful and homely, and the hosts are incredibly welcoming, taking great care of their guests. The food provided by the family is delicious, making the stay even more enjoyable. I recommend staying for at least two nights to fully appreciate the experience.The best way to reach this location is by taking two trains from Trivandrum to Munroeturuttu, which offers stunning backwaters views and a comfortable journey. Once there, local auto or boat travel is affordable and convenient. The local people are friendly and helpful, adding to the charm of the place. I will definitely visit again soon!
We had a very pleasant stay at Green Chromide. The welcome is warm and the place is magnificent. You can enjoy the tranquility of the place. The cabin is comfortable and very well appointed. The food offered is very good. I highly recommend! Munroe Island is the ideal place for a one or two day getaway surrounded by nature.
We enjoyed our 2-day stay in Green Chromide Homestays.Location on the river is amazing. Rooms are simple but very clean. Food is excellent and Sunaina and her family are so welcoming and supportive in organizing activities.I recommend the place!
The family hosting the stay at Green Chromide was very helpful and welcoming. The authentic Kerala home made food served by the family was really delicious and a must have.The rooms were neat and clean and the location of the property at the riverside is just perfect!
We had the pleasure of staying here for 4 nights recently and thoroughly enjoyed it. Stayed in the slightly bigger wooden cabin (2 people) and it was very comfortable and spacious and we had everything we needed. Our hosts were so friendly and kind and extremely attentive. Loved sitting by the river for meals and there is another restaurant close by (Buttercup) which does good meals at both lunch and dinner. We did the sunrise canoe ride and hired bikes too. Such a quiet peaceful place so come here if you want to fully relax and chill out (as there isn’t much to do: in a good way!) bed comfortable, shower worked well as did wifi and everything nice and clean so the basics are covered well too, which are important! Highly recommend it here.For context, we visited Alleppey too but both places (Alleppey & Munroe Island) can’t be compared as they are two completely different places. Munroe is not touristy in any way and much quieter and chilled and more of a village feel. Both obviously have access to the rivers and waterways but have a different feel so recommend both if you have time x
Green chromide is absolutely a hidden gem .situated in the bank of River Kallada it provides a mesmerizing view of the river and the distant rows of coconut trees. Wonderful host with a great hospitality.Special mention is the food.the breakfast served was awesome and wholesome .You can enjoy your meal in the banks of the river with the view . The place is absolutely peaceful.The hosts will arrange for your private canoe ride and also village tour which you can enjoy on feet or cycle .
A really lovely stay.It's so beautiful at Munroe Island and this homestay is perched on the banks of a beautiful canal.I took the sunrise canoe trip as well as moonlight canoe trips to a colourful local festival. All lovelyThe hosts work hard to make your stay enjoyable and efficient in terms of transport. The food especially the green Chromide in banana leaves was tasty.Make sure you allow time for walking around the village and riverbanks as well as just relaxing there.
